Reward Structure: How You Earn
RBL values a Reward Point at ₹0.25 — its own working figure rather than a published redemption table. Several RBL cards use a different value, so point counts are not comparable across the range without checking.
10 Reward Points per ₹100 at TVS dealerships and select categories — 2.5%. 2 per ₹100 on a second band — 0.5%. 1 per ₹100 on everything else — 0.25%.
RBL stopped paying rewards on a whole category block on 13 November 2023 — Fuel & Auto, Utilities, Insurance, Quasi-Cash, Real Estate and Rental, Education, and Wallets. The same list is excluded from milestone spend.
| Spend | Effective rate |
|---|---|
| TVS dealerships and select categories (capped at 1,000 points a month) | **2.5%** |
| Other select categories (capped at 1,000 points a month) | **0.5%** |
| Everything else | 0.25% |
| Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government, gaming | **0%** |
The caps that actually bind
Headline rates mean little until you know where they stop. These are the limits on this card:
| Cap | Limit |
|---|---|
| Monthly | 1,000 points per calendar month |
The accelerated bands cap at 1,000 Reward Points a month — ₹250 of value, binding at ₹10,000 of qualifying spend at the 10-point rate.
No TVS merchant id exists in the merchant master used here, so the dealership band cannot fire in any structured comparison — expect tools to show this card at its 0.25% base rate.
The lounge benefit is a RAILWAY lounge, not an airport lounge. Airport access exists but is conditional on minimum spend. Any comparison will show the railway count in the domestic airport lounge field because the schema has no railway equivalent.
RBL rounds down on every transaction. A ₹350 spend at 1 point per ₹100 earns 3 points and the ₹50 is lost — every time, not cumulatively.
Milestone Benefits
| Spend | Benefit | Value |
|---|---|---|
| ₹1.5 lakh a year | Milestone benefit on select-category spends | Value not published |
| ₹2.5 lakh a year | Higher milestone benefit and a larger fuel surcharge waiver | Value not published |
Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn
- Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: Fuel & Auto, Utilities, Insurance, Quasi-Cash, Real Estate and Rental, Education, and Wallets and Service Providers — RBL's own category list, excluded from earning AND from milestone spend calculation, with effect from 13 November 2023. Railways and Government are excluded on some cards additionally. Base Reward Points are also NOT accrued on EMI conversion of retail transactions, including Split-N-Pay and EMI requests placed at the point of sale.
- Point expiry: Reward Points expire after the validity period RBL prescribes and are forfeited on card closure. Points transferred to a partner programme are governed by that programme's expiry rules, not RBL's.
- Redemption fee: ₹99 per redemption.
- Monthly cap: 1,000 Reward Points a month across the accelerated bands — ₹250 of value, binding at ₹10,000 of qualifying spend at the 10-point rate.

Is the TVS Credit RBL Bank Gold Credit Card Worth It?
The milestones step up with spend: ₹1,50,000 of annual spend under select categories unlocks one tier, and ₹2,50,000 lifts the fuel surcharge waiver to ₹200 a month. RBL does not state their rupee values, so treat them as unquantified.
The fuel surcharge waiver caps at ₹200 a month and rises with the annual milestone.
At 0.25% base and a 1,000-point monthly ceiling, this is a narrow card. It works for a TVS customer who also travels by rail; outside that it earns very little.
Against the base TVS card at a third of the fee, Gold doubles the fuel surcharge waiver and raises the milestone thresholds but shares the same 1,000-point monthly ceiling.
The fee is waived at ₹250,000 of annual spend.
