The Premium variant of the IndianOil Axis card earns EDGE Miles rather than EDGE Reward Points, and that changes everything about how it should be read: a mile is worth a published ₹1, five times a Reward Point.

It pays 4% on IndianOil fuel and 0.67% on general spends, with the ₹199 redemption fee waived.

The caps that actually bind

Headline rates mean little until you know where they stop. These are the limits on this card:

This card's terms contain the sentence that fixes the EDGE Mile valuation for the whole dataset: 'Customer shall earn 1 EDGE Mile (1 EDGE Mile = INR 1) on every INR 150 spent'. It is the primary source for every EDGE Miles percentage in this collection.

The 600-mile fuel cap is inclusive of the base earn, not additional to it. Axis states it as '600 EDGE Miles in total (5X Accelerated + 1X Base)'. At 6 miles per ₹150 it binds at ₹15,000 of fuel a month — ₹600 of value.

The ₹199 redemption and transfer fee is waived on this card.

Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn

  • Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; rent (MCC 6513); wallet loads (MCC 6540); government institution transactions (MCC 9222, 9311, 9399, 9402); cash withdrawals; EMI conversions; gift card purchases and toll, bridge and road fees (both excluded w.e.f. 28 August 2026); and fees, charges, GST and reversals. Insurance, utilities, telecom, education and jewellery are excluded on some cards only — the per-card notes say which.
  • Point expiry: EDGE Reward Points and EDGE Miles expire 36 months from the date of accrual unless the card's own terms say otherwise. Points are forfeited if the card is closed, and a NEGATIVE point balance at closure is converted to a statement debit the cardholder must pay.
  • Fuel cap: 600 EDGE Miles a month on fuel, counting BOTH the 5X accelerated and the 1X base earn together. At 6 miles per ₹150 it binds at ₹15,000 of fuel a month — ₹600 of value.

Is the IndianOil Axis Bank Premium Credit Card Worth It?

Three times the fuel headroom of the entry card, for twice the fee. ₹15,000 of monthly fuel against ₹5,000, and ₹600 of value against ₹200. If you spend more than about ₹6,000 a month on fuel, this is the better card.

The general rate is 0.67% against the entry card's 0.2% — more than three times better, because EDGE Miles are worth five times an EDGE Reward Point.

The ₹30,000 fee waiver is among the lowest in the Axis range and is cleared by most regular users within a few months. In practice this card is close to free.

The fuel surcharge waiver is ₹400 a cycle, eight times the entry card's ₹50.
