The SimplyCLICK SBI Card is SBI's ₹499 online-shopping card: 2.5% at eleven named partner merchants, 1.25% on any other online spend, plus up to ₹4,000 of travel vouchers a year. It is the card SBI positions against the growing share of household spending that happens on a phone — and it has one trap in its milestone structure that is genuinely easy to fall into.

Eligibility Criteria

SBI Card publishes no age or income threshold. Approval rests on its own assessment of income, credit history and internal scoring. Indian residency and a valid PAN are required. Add-on cards are free.

A secured variant, SimplyCLICK SBI Card Advantage, is issued against a fixed deposit. Its terms are not published on the main product page.

Reward Structure: Three Rates

Reward Points are worth ₹0.25 each — 4 points redeem against ₹1 of the outstanding bill. Every rate below is after that conversion.

SpendPointsEffective rate
**The eleven exclusive partners**10 RP per ₹100**2.5%**
Any other online spend5 RP per ₹100**1.25%**
Everything else (offline)1 RP per ₹100**0.25%**
FuelNil**0%**

The 5X other-online band is capped at 10,000 Reward Points per calendar month, after which every ₹100 earns 1 Reward Point. The 10X partner band carries no cap — confirmed against SBI's live rewards T&C, which contains exactly one capping clause and applies it to the 5X band alone. An uncapped 2.5% and 1.25% is the card's quietest strength.

The eleven partners

SBI's exclusive partner list, as published:

Apollo 24x7 · BookMyShow · Cleartrip · Domino's · IGP · Myntra · Netmeds · Swiggy · Yatra · Gyftr · Tata CLiQ

Everything on that list earns 2.5%. Anything else bought online — Amazon, Flipkart, a direct merchant site, an app purchase — earns 1.25%.

How "online" is determined

The 5X rate is keyed on the channel, not the merchant category. SBI identifies an online transaction from the card-not-present indicators the card networks and the acquirer send. Two consequences worth knowing:

  • An online merchant whose gateway sends a card-present flag will earn the 0.25% base rate rather than 1.25%. Rare, but worth spot-checking early.
  • A QR-code payment made in a shop is normally flagged card-present, so it earns 0.25%, not 1.25% — even though it feels like a digital payment.

The Milestone Trap: Online Spends, Not Total Spends

This is the detail to get right, because two thresholds on this card look identical and are not.

BenefitThresholdMeasured on
**Fee reversal**₹1,00,000 a year**Total** annual spend
**First milestone voucher**₹1,00,000 a year**Online** spend only
**Second milestone voucher**₹2,00,000 a year**Online** spend only

Both milestones pay a ₹2,000 e-voucher from Cleartrip or Yatra, and they are additive — clear ₹2 lakh of online spend and you collect ₹4,000 in total.

The trap: a cardholder who spends ₹1.2 lakh a year on the card, split ₹60,000 online and ₹60,000 offline, gets the fee reversal but no milestone voucher. The two ₹1 lakh figures sit side by side on SBI's own page and measure different things. If you are chasing the vouchers, only online transactions count toward them.

At ₹2 lakh of online spend a year — about ₹16,700 a month online — the two vouchers plus the earn rate make this card considerably better than its ₹499 fee suggests.

Welcome Benefit

A ₹500 Amazon.in e-gift card, credited on payment of the annual fee. That covers the ₹499 fee almost exactly, so year one is effectively free.

Note it is conditional on the fee being paid, not on any spend — unlike SimplySAVE's welcome bonus, which requires ₹2,000 of spend in 60 days.

Worked Example

Illustrative, at ₹30,000 a month with a strong online skew:

CategoryMonthly spendRatePointsValue
Partner merchants (Swiggy, Myntra, BookMyShow)₹8,0002.5%800₹200
Other online (Amazon, direct sites)₹9,0001.25%450₹112.50
Offline retail and dining₹13,0000.25%130₹32.50
**Monthly total****₹30,000****1,380****₹345 — 1.15%**

Annual tally:

Reward Points₹4,140
Milestone vouchers (₹2.04 lakh online spend clears both)₹4,000
Welcome Amazon voucher (year one)₹500
**Year-one total****₹8,640**
**Steady state****₹8,140**
Annual fee**₹0** (reversed at ₹1 lakh total spend)
**Effective return****2.26% of total spend**

The milestones nearly double what the card returns. Without them the same profile yields ₹4,140 — 1.15%. They are worth planning around.

Where You Won't Earn

ExcludedNote
**Fuel**MCC 5172, 5541, 5542, 5983
**Cash advances, balance transfers, Flexipay**Plus 2.5% fee, minimum ₹500, on cash

The fuel surcharge waiver is the whole fuel benefit: 1% reversed on transactions between ₹500 and ₹3,000, capped at ₹100 per statement cycle.

SBI's range-wide transaction fees apply: ₹199 per rent payment, 1% on wallet loads above ₹1,000, 1% on utility payments once the cycle total passes ₹50,000, and 1% on education payments through third-party apps.

SimplyCLICK vs CASHBACK SBI Card

Both target online spending. The comparison is not close for most people.

SimplyCLICK**CASHBACK SBI Card**
Annual fee₹499₹999
Fee reversal₹1,00,000₹2,00,000
Top online rate2.5%, **11 partners only****5%, any online merchant**
Other online1.25%**5%**
Offline0.25%**1%**
Cap10,000 RP/month on the 5X band; 10X uncapped₹5,000 / month
Milestones**₹4,000 of vouchers**None
Reward value₹0.25 per point**₹1 = ₹1 cashback**

The CASHBACK card pays four times more on non-partner online spend and four times more offline, in rupees rather than quarter-rupee points. SimplyCLICK wins only if your online spending is genuinely concentrated on the eleven partners and you will clear the ₹2 lakh online milestone — and even then the margin is thin.

SimplyCLICK's real case is as a low-cost second card: keep it for the partner merchants and the vouchers, and run everything else on something better.

Is the SimplyCLICK SBI Card Worth It?

Yes, if you spend heavily on the partner list. Swiggy, Myntra, BookMyShow, Cleartrip and Domino's cover a lot of urban household spending, and 2.5% uncapped on them at a ₹499 fee is solid.

Yes, if you will clear ₹2 lakh of online spend a year. The ₹4,000 of vouchers roughly doubles the card's return.

No, if your online spend is spread across Amazon, Flipkart and direct merchant sites. Those earn 1.25% here and 5% on the CASHBACK SBI Card, for ₹500 more of fee.

No, as a primary card. A 0.25% offline base rate means most in-store spending earns almost nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the annual fee of the SimplyCLICK SBI Card? ₹499 plus GST, on joining and renewal. The renewal fee is reversed if total annual spend in the previous year reached ₹1,00,000.

Which merchants earn 10X Reward Points? Apollo 24x7, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, Domino's, IGP, Myntra, Netmeds, Swiggy, Yatra, Gyftr and Tata CLiQ — eleven exclusive partners, at 10 Reward Points per ₹100, which is 2.5%.

What do I earn on other online purchases? 5 Reward Points per ₹100 — 1.25% — on any online spend outside the partner list. Offline spends earn 1 point per ₹100, or 0.25%.

Are the reward rates capped? No. SBI publishes no cap on any of the three rates on this card, which is unusual in its range.

What are the milestone benefits? A ₹2,000 Cleartrip or Yatra e-voucher at ₹1,00,000 of annual online spend, and a second ₹2,000 voucher at ₹2,00,000 of annual online spend — ₹4,000 in total.

Do the milestones count my offline spending? No, and this is the detail most people miss. The milestones are measured on online spends only, while the ₹1 lakh fee reversal is measured on total spend. The two ₹1 lakh thresholds look the same and are not.

What is the welcome benefit? A ₹500 Amazon.in e-gift card, credited on payment of the annual fee — no spend condition attached.

Does the card offer lounge access? No. SimplyCLICK has no lounge programme and no insurance.
