The Landmark Rewards SBI Card SELECT sits in the middle of SBI's Landmark range: ₹1,499 a year, 3.75% at Landmark Group stores, 2.5% on dining, movies and international spends, and 0.5% on everything else — all uncapped.

There is no spend-based fee waiver on any Landmark card. Instead, 6,000 bonus Reward Points worth ₹1,500 arrive on payment of the fee every year — which more than covers it, with no spend threshold to clear.

Eligibility Criteria

SBI Card publishes no age or income threshold. Approval rests on its own assessment. Indian residency and a valid PAN are required. Add-on cards are free.

The Annual Bonus Replaces the Fee Waiver — And Beats It

There is no spend-based fee reversal on any Landmark card, which is a finding rather than a gap: SBI's pages do not address it either way, and third-party databases confirm the absence.

What you get instead is 6,000 bonus Reward Points, worth ₹1,500, on payment of the annual fee — every year. SBI's wording is "on payment of annual fees", not "on joining".

₹1,500 against a ₹1,499 fee means the card pays for itself the moment you pay for it, with no spend threshold at all. Compare that to SBI Card PULSE at the same ₹1,499, which needs ₹2 lakh of annual spend before its fee is reversed. For a moderate spender, the Landmark structure is simply better.

No caps on any rate.

The Landmark Group brands are Lifestyle, Max Fashion, Home Centre, EasyBuy, SPAR and Babyshop, and the rate applies online and in store.

One practical note: comparison engines will understate this card at SPAR and Babyshop. Those two have no distinct merchant identity in the underlying data, so automated calculators score spend there at the 0.5% base rate rather than 3.75%. Lifestyle, Max Fashion, Home Centre and EasyBuy are recognised.

The international element cannot be modelled either. Geography is not a merchant category, so calculators apply only the dining and movies legs of the 2.5% band. And note the forex markup is 3.5% — earning 2.5% on foreign spend still leaves you 1% down.

The exclusion list is wider than most SBI cards: fuel, rental, government spends, gaming, wallet loads and EMI all earn nothing.

Milestone

12,000 bonus Reward Points — ₹3,000 — at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend.

One rung, at about ₹25,000 a month. Combined with the ₹1,500 annual bonus, a cardholder clearing ₹3 lakh takes ₹4,500 in fixed benefits before any earn rate — three times the fee.

Lounge Access

4 complimentary domestic airport lounge visits a year. No international lounge access — that is the PRIME's addition.

Worked Example

Illustrative, at ₹28,000 a month — ₹3.36 lakh a year, clearing the milestone:

CategoryMonthly spendRatePointsValue
Lifestyle, Max, Home Centre₹6,0003.75%900₹225
Dining and movies₹5,0002.5%500₹125
Everything else₹15,0000.5%300₹75
Fuel, rent, wallet₹2,0000%0₹0
**Monthly total****₹28,000****1,700****₹425 — 1.52%**

Annual tally:

Reward Points earned₹5,100
Annual bonus points (every year)₹1,500
Milestone at ₹3 lakh₹3,000
**Total****₹9,600**
Annual fee₹1,499
**Net****₹8,101 — 2.41% of spend**

Plus 4 domestic lounge visits.

Note how much sits in fixed benefits: ₹4,500 of the ₹9,600 comes from the annual bonus and milestone rather than the earn rate. This is a card where hitting ₹3 lakh matters more than optimising category spend.

Where You Won't Earn

SBI names the exclusions: fuel, rental, government spends, gaming, wallet and EMI, plus cash advances.

The fuel surcharge waiver is the whole fuel benefit: 1% reversed on transactions between ₹500 and ₹3,000, capped at ₹100 per statement cycle.

SBI's range-wide transaction fees apply: ₹199 per rent payment, 1% on wallet loads above ₹1,000, 1% on utility payments once the cycle total passes ₹50,000, and 1% on education payments through third-party apps. Rent and wallet loads are *excluded from rewards and carry their own fee*.

The SELECT is the balanced rung. It doubles the dining band and the base rate against the entry card and adds lounge access; the PRIME then raises only the Landmark rate, the milestone and the lounges, leaving the dining band and base rate untouched.

Step down to the ₹499 card if your Landmark spend is under about ₹13,000 a year — that is where the SELECT's extra 1.25 points of Landmark rate stops repaying the ₹1,000 fee difference, though the doubled dining band and base rate shift the calculation further in the SELECT's favour.

Step up to the PRIME if your Landmark spend exceeds about ₹60,000 a year, where the 6.25% rate repays the next ₹1,500 of fee.

Is the Landmark Rewards SBI Card SELECT Worth It?

Yes, for any regular Landmark Group shopper. 3.75% uncapped at Lifestyle, Max and Home Centre, with the fee covered by the annual bonus regardless of spend, is a straightforward proposition.

Yes, because the fee looks after itself. ₹1,500 of points against a ₹1,499 fee, on payment alone — no threshold to clear, unlike most cards at this price.

Yes, if you eat out and go to the cinema. An uncapped 2.5% on dining and movies is competitive in its own right and is the same rate the ₹2,999 PRIME pays.

No, if you rarely shop at Landmark Group stores. The 0.5% base rate is weak and the card is single-purpose by design.

Watch the international band. 2.5% earned against a 3.5% forex markup leaves you down on foreign spend.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the annual fee of the Landmark Rewards SBI Card SELECT? ₹1,499 plus GST, on joining and renewal. There is no spend-based fee reversal — but 6,000 bonus Reward Points worth ₹1,500 are credited on payment of the fee every year, which covers it.

What is the reward rate at Landmark Group stores? 15 Reward Points per ₹100 — 3.75% at 4 points to the rupee, uncapped, online and in store.

Which brands count as Landmark Group? Lifestyle, Max Fashion, Home Centre, EasyBuy, SPAR and Babyshop. Comparison tools may not recognise SPAR and Babyshop and will understate the card there.

Do the bonus points recur every year? Yes. SBI's wording is "on payment of annual fees", so the 6,000 points arrive on every renewal, not only at joining.

Are the rates capped? No. SBI publishes no cap on any of the three rates.

What is the milestone benefit? 12,000 bonus Reward Points — ₹3,000 — at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend.

How many lounge visits do I get? Four complimentary domestic visits a year. There is no international lounge access; the PRIME adds four a year.

Should I take the SELECT or the PRIME? Their dining band and base rate are identical. The PRIME buys a higher Landmark rate (6.25% vs 3.75%), a bigger milestone and international lounge access — worth it above roughly ₹60,000 of annual Landmark Group spend.
