Kotak Solitaire Credit Card Review 2026: 10 Air Miles on Unbox, Zero Forex, Unlimited Lounges & FAQs
The Kotak Solitaire is the strongest credit card in this dataset, and it isn't close. It pays 10 Air Miles per ₹100 on travel booked through Kotak Unbox and an uncapped 3 Air Miles per ₹100 on everything else, at 1 Air Mile = ₹1. Forex markup is zero. Lounge access is unlimited, domestic and international, for the primary cardholder and every add-on holder. Cash withdrawal costs 1% with no interest until the due date.
It is invite-only, tied to the Kotak Solitaire Programme, and crafted in metal. If you can get it, the arithmetic is not a close call.

How the travel rate is built
The detailed T&C breaks it down as 3 base + 7 accelerated. Only the accelerated 7 are capped, at 1,00,000 Air Miles per statement cycle — which binds at roughly ₹14.3 lakh of Unbox travel spend in a single cycle. For practical purposes it is unreachable.
Past the cap you keep the 3 base Air Miles, so the rate falls to 3%, not zero.
Accelerated Air Miles post within 5 days of transaction settlement.
The 3% base rate is the real headline
An uncapped 3% on general spend is extraordinary for an Indian credit card. Most premium cards in this market run 1–2% with caps. Here there is no cap and no category carve-out beyond the exclusion list.
Tax payments earn — and that matters
The exclusion list reads: "No Air Miles will be earned on Rent, Wallet, Fuel, Utility & Telecom, Insurance, Education, Government (except tax payments), Digital Gaming, and International spends."
That parenthesis is worth real money. MCC 9311 — tax payments — earns the full 3%, while every other government code earns nothing. On a card aimed at high-net-worth individuals with large advance-tax obligations, routing ₹10 lakh of advance tax through it returns ₹30,000. No other Kotak card carves tax out of the government exclusion.
International spend: zero markup, zero earn
The card charges no foreign currency markup at all — not 2%, not 1.99%, zero. And international transactions earn no Air Miles.
That is the trade-off, and on this card it favours you. On ₹5 lakh of foreign spend a year the zero markup saves ₹17,500 against Kotak's standard 3.50%, which is more than the 3% base rate would have paid on the same spend.
Redeeming Air Miles
| Channel | Rate | Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Flights and hotels on Kotak Unbox | **1 Air Mile = ₹1** | 500 Air Miles |
| Vouchers on Kotak Unbox | 1 Air Mile = ₹0.50 | 500 Air Miles |
| Partner transfers | See below | 2,000 Air Miles |
Air Miles expire 3 years from the date of credit.
Transfer partners
| Partner | Programme | Ratio | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Air India** | **Maharaja Club** | **1:1** | Airline |
| British Airways | Executive Club | 2:1 | Airline |
| United Airlines | MileagePlus | 2:1 | Airline |
| Cathay Pacific | Asia Miles | 2:1 | Airline |
| Air France–KLM | Flying Blue | 2:1 | Airline |
| Qatar Airways | Privilege Club | 2:1 | Airline |
| Accor | ALL – Accor Live Limitless | 2:1 | Hotel |
| Marriott | Marriott Bonvoy | 3:1 | Hotel |
The Air India 1:1 is unique in Kotak's range. Every other Kotak card transfers to Maharaja Club at 2:1 or 3:1. At 1:1 you give up ₹1 of guaranteed Unbox value per partner mile rather than ₹2 or ₹3, which makes Air India transfers genuinely worth considering here — and nowhere else in the range.
Minimum 2,000 Air Miles per transfer, with no maximum cap.
Lounge Access — unlimited, and unlimited for add-ons too
This is the only card in Kotak's range with:
- Unlimited domestic access, and
- Unlimited international access through Priority Pass, and
- both extended to every add-on cardholder, not just the primary
Guests get 4 complimentary visits per primary cardholder a year, split 2 domestic and 2 international, and both can be used in a single visit.
Validation charges: ₹2 domestic, $1 international (auto-reversed within 7 working days). Guest charges beyond the complimentary visits are $35 per guest per visit from 1 October. Enable international POS and online transactions for the international validation charge to go through.
Cash Withdrawal — the quiet standout
1% of the withdrawal amount, at any domestic or international ATM, with no interest or APR charged until the payment due date.
Every other Kotak card charges 2.5% with a ₹500 minimum and accrues interest from the day of withdrawal. Here a ₹50,000 withdrawal costs ₹500 and nothing more if you clear it by the due date.
Two caveats: ATM owners and shared-network operators may add their own charge, and cash withdrawals earn no Air Miles.
Lifestyle Benefits
District by Zomato — 20% off up to ₹5,000 per transaction, twice a month, no minimum bill. Apply coupon code KOTAKSOLITAIRE at checkout. Valid across Play, Activities, Shopping, Movies and Dining on the District app; not valid on music concerts. Runs 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
That is up to ₹10,000 a month — the largest instant discount on any card in this dataset.
Zomato Gold for ₹1 for a full year: free delivery within 7km on orders above ₹199, and up to 30% off at 20,000+ restaurants.
ITC Hotels and Elivaas Villas — complimentary third night on two consecutive nights, or 50% off the second night. Provided by Visa rather than Kotak, and subject to change without notice.
Kotak Solitaire Table with District by Zomato — early access to curated dining experiences, chef's tables and limited-seat tasting menus, including Michelin-starred chefs.
Concierge covering hotel upgrades and early check-in, visa assistance, luxury transfers, airport meet-and-greet (charges apply), itinerary planning, priority reservations, private shopping, celebration planning, relocation support and education advisory.
Fees and Charges
| Charge | Amount |

| Add-on card | **Waived** |
| Finance charges | 3.50% per month (42.00% per annum) |

| Over-limit | **Waived** |
| Card replacement | **Nil** |
| Cash payment at branch | **Waived** |

| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1% on ₹400–₹7,500, **capped at ₹10,000 in an anniversary year** |
| Railway surcharge waiver | **Not eligible** |
The fee is programme-linked, not spend-linked. Both the card page and the detailed T&C read "Annual Fees- Nil (₹25,000 will be charged if downgraded from Kotak Solitaire Program)". Stay in the programme and the card is free; fall out of it and you owe ₹25,000.
The fuel surcharge waiver cap of ₹10,000 a year is more than double the next-highest in Kotak's range. Fuel earns no Air Miles, so that waiver is the entire fuel benefit — but at ₹10,000 it's a substantial one.
Special-category fees don't apply. The MITC exempts White Reserve, Kotak Solitaire, Kotak Infinite and Kotak Signature from the 1% charges on rent, utility, education, wallet loading, gaming and fuel. So rent and utility spend costs you nothing extra here, even though it earns nothing.

| Digital gaming | 5816 |
Plus all international spends and cash withdrawals.
Worked Example
A cardholder spending ₹25 lakh a year:
| Category | Spend | Air Miles | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flights and hotels via Kotak Unbox | ₹4,00,000 | 40,000 | ₹40,000 |
| Advance tax (MCC 9311) | ₹8,00,000 | 24,000 | ₹24,000 |
| All other eligible spend | ₹10,00,000 | 30,000 | ₹30,000 |
| International spend | ₹3,00,000 | 0 | Zero markup saves ₹10,500 |
| **Total** | **₹25,00,000** | **94,000** | **₹1,04,500** |
That is 4.2% on total spend, before lounges, the District discount or the fuel waiver — and on a card with no fee.
Who Should Get the Kotak Solitaire
Good fit if:
- You're a Kotak Solitaire Programme member — the card is invite-only and the fee waiver depends on it
- You book travel through Kotak Unbox
- You pay meaningful advance tax on a card — the 9311 carve-out is worth thousands
- You travel internationally — zero forex plus unlimited Priority Pass for you and your add-ons
- You eat out and go out — the District offer alone is worth up to ₹1.2 lakh a year
Look elsewhere if:
- You're not in the Solitaire Programme. There is no other route in, and falling out of it triggers a ₹25,000 fee
- Your spend is concentrated in rent, utilities, insurance, education or fuel — all excluded
- You want railway surcharge waivers — this card doesn't have them
