Reward Structure: How You Earn

myCash is worth ₹1 against MakeMyTrip bookings — flights, hotels, cabs and holidays — and nothing outside them. There is no cash-out.

6% myCash on MakeMyTrip hotel bookings, uncapped. 3% myCash on MakeMyTrip cab bookings, uncapped. 1% myCash on all other spends. 25 myCash on every train booking.

From 15 January 2026 ICICI stopped paying rewards on fuel and e-wallet loads across its range, and added new fees the same day: 1% on wallet loads of ₹5,000 or more, 2% on skill-based gaming, 1% on transportation above ₹50,000, and ₹3,500 one-time for every new add-on card.

The caps that actually bind

Headline rates mean little until you know where they stop. These are the limits on this card:

CapLimit
Insurance1,000 points per year

Insurance is capped at 1,000 Reward Points per ANNIVERSARY YEAR on the MakeMyTrip cards — ICICI names this card family specifically. That is an annual ceiling where the rest of the ICICI range uses per-cycle ones, which makes it roughly twelve times tighter.

myCash is credited to the MakeMyTrip account, not to the card, so its validity and redemption sit under MakeMyTrip's terms rather than ICICI's.

Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn

  • Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel (MCC 1361, 3851, 5172, 5541, 5542, 5555, 5983, 9752 — the Parakram cards are exempt); e-wallet loads (MCC 6540 — the Amazon Pay card is exempt); cash advances; and, on the premium metal cards, government services, rent, tax payments and property management. Both fuel and wallet exclusions took effect on 15 January 2026.
  • Point expiry: Reward Points are valid for 36 months from the date of accrual. Points LAPSE ENTIRELY on card cancellation, and a redemption handling fee of ₹99 plus GST applies to each redemption request.
  • Redemption fee: ₹99 per redemption.
  • Insurance cap: 1,000 Reward Points per ANNIVERSARY YEAR on insurance — not per cycle. ICICI states this cap for the MakeMyTrip card specifically, and an annual ceiling is far tighter than the per-cycle ceilings the rest of the range uses.

Is the MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card Worth It?

Uncapped 6% on hotels is the standout and it is rare. Most travel co-brands cap their headline band; this one does not. On ₹1 lakh of hotel bookings a year that is ₹6,000 against a ₹999 fee.

The 0.99% forex markup is the lowest in this entire dataset, which matters on a card aimed at travellers.

myCash is worth ₹1 inside MakeMyTrip and nothing outside it. There is no cash-out, and it is credited to the MakeMyTrip account rather than the card — so it sits under MakeMyTrip's terms, not ICICI's.

If you book travel anywhere else, the card collapses to 1%.

Milestone and welcome benefits are released only after the fee has actually been paid — a waived fee forfeits them. Rent, government and education spends count toward neither the fee waiver nor the milestones.
