Tata Neu Plus is the entry card in the Tata Neu range: 1% base, 2% across Tata brands, and up to 7% in selected categories on the Tata Neu app, for ₹499.
As with Infinity, the governing fact is that NeuCoins spend only inside the Tata ecosystem — no statement credit, no cash-out.

Reward Structure: How You Earn
The card earns NeuCoins valued at ₹1 inside Tata's stores.
Up to 7% in selected categories on the Tata Neu app. 2% at Tata Neu and partner Tata brands, non-EMI. 1% on everything else and 1% on UPI via the RuPay variant.
This card was unaffected by HDFC's 15 May 2026 rate change, which applied to the Reward Point cards only. The cashback and co-brand cards were left alone.
| Spend | Effective rate |
|---|---|
| Selected categories on the Tata Neu app or website | **7.0%** |

The 2% Tata-brand rate is where Plus falls well short of Infinity's 5%. On ₹20,000 a month of Tata spending that is ₹400 against ₹1,000 — a ₹7,200 annual gap for ₹1,000 more in fee.
NeuCoins expire 12 months from accrual.
Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn
- Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; EasyEMI and e-wallet loading; rent, property management, maintenance and packers-and-movers; government transactions; education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, Cheq or MobiKwik (paying a college or school directly still earns); and online skill-based gaming. Points are also REVERSED if a retail transaction is later converted to SmartEMI.
- Point expiry: Reward Points are valid for 24 months from accrual and lapse thereafter — HDFC states 'Unredeemed Reward Points will expire/lapse after 2 years of accumulation'.
- Redemption fee: ₹99 per redemption.

Is the Tata Neu Plus HDFC Bank Credit Card Worth It?
Plus makes sense as a trial card, not a destination. If you shop at Tata brands occasionally and want to see whether NeuCoins actually get spent, ₹499 is a low-risk way to find out.
If you already know you are a Tata household, go straight to Infinity. The ₹1,000 fee difference is repaid at roughly ₹28,000 of annual Tata spending, which is not a demanding threshold.
The 1% base is fine but it is 1% in NeuCoins, not money. A 1% cashback card paying real rupees is worth more to anyone who does not shop at Tata.
One domestic lounge visit a quarter. Fair Usage caps earning at 25,000 NeuCoins per statement cycle, half Infinity's ceiling.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the Tata Neu Plus reward rate? 1% NeuCoins on general spending, 2% at Tata Neu and partner Tata brands, and up to 7% in selected categories on the Tata Neu app.
Can NeuCoins be converted to cash? No. They spend only inside the Tata Neu ecosystem — there is no statement credit or cash-out option.

What does it not earn on? Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government payments, third-party education apps and online gaming earn nothing, and rewards are reversed if a purchase is converted to SmartEMI.
