HDFC Regalia Gold Review 2026: 1.63% Base, 5X Partner Brands, ₹4 Lakh Waiver & FAQs
HDFC Regalia Gold charges ₹2,500 and earns 5 Reward Points per ₹200 at ₹0.65 — 1.63%. 5X at Myntra, Nykaa, Marks & Spencer and Reliance Digital, capped at 5,000 points a month. Fees, caps and FAQs.
Regalia Gold is HDFC's mid-premium workhorse and probably the best fee-to-benefit ratio in the range. ₹2,500 buys a 1.63% base rate, twelve domestic lounge visits, six international, and a 5X band at four well-chosen retail partners.
It is also the card where HDFC's point valuation does the most work. The 1.63% depends on redeeming through a narrow Exclusive Gold Catalogue at ₹0.65 a point. Redeem for statement credit at ₹0.30 and the same card returns 0.75%.

Reward Structure: How You Earn
Regalia Gold earns 5 Reward Points per ₹200 on retail — 1.63% at the ₹0.65 Exclusive Gold Catalogue rate, which is the highest published redemption channel and the basis for every percentage here.
The headline benefit is 5X at Myntra, Nykaa, Marks & Spencer and Reliance Digital — 25 points per ₹200, or 8.13%. HDFC moved this card from ₹150 to ₹200 earning blocks on 15 May 2026. Points that used to accrue every ₹150 now accrue every ₹200 — a real 25% cut, with no change to what a point is worth. Any review or comparison site still quoting a ₹150 basis for this card is out of date.
| Spend | Effective rate |
|---|---|
| Myntra, Nykaa, Marks & Spencer and Reliance Digital (capped at 5,000 points a month) | **8.12%** |
| Everything else | 1.62% |
| Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government, gaming | **0%** |
The caps that actually bind
Headline rates mean little until you know where they stop. These are the limits on this card:
| Cap | Limit |
|---|---|
| Smartbuy | 4,000 points per calendar month, plus a daily limit of 2,000; brand vouchers sub-limited to **3,000** inside it |
| Partner | 5,000 points per calendar month — a **separate** pool from SmartBuy |
The 5X band is capped at 5,000 Reward Points a calendar month across all four brands combined, not 5,000 each. At 25 points per ₹200 that binds at ₹40,000 of partner spend a month. A single large Reliance Digital purchase can consume the entire month's partner allowance before you have bought anything at Myntra.
The two ceilings are independent and must not be added together wrongly — or merged. SmartBuy has its own 4,000-point monthly ceiling with a 2,000-point daily limit; the 5X partner band has its own 5,000. A cardholder can fill both in the same month, for 9,000 accelerated points. Treating them as one pool understates the card by more than half.
And the brand-voucher sub-limit here is 3,000, not the 1,000 that applies to HDFC's Diners Black cards — so vouchers bought through GyFTR or Woohoo can consume three quarters of the entire SmartBuy allowance.
Worked example
₹60,000 a month, with regular partner-brand shopping.
| Category | Monthly spend | Points | Value at ₹0.65 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partner brands, within the cap | ₹40,000 | 5,000 RP | ₹3,250 |
| Partner brands, past the cap | ₹5,000 | 125 RP | ₹81 |
| Other retail and online | ₹12,000 | 300 RP | ₹195 |
| Fuel | ₹3,000 | 0 RP | ₹0 |
| **Monthly total** | **₹60,000** | **5,425 RP** | **₹3,526** |
₹7.2 lakh a year clears the ₹4 lakh reversal comfortably. But note how fast the partner cap binds: ₹5,000 of spend past it returned ₹81 instead of ₹406.
Milestone Benefits

| ₹7.5 lakh a year | ₹5,000 flight voucher | ₹5,000 |

Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn
- Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; EasyEMI and e-wallet loading; rent, property management, maintenance and packers-and-movers; government transactions; education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, Cheq or MobiKwik (paying a college or school directly still earns); and online skill-based gaming. Points are also REVERSED if a retail transaction is later converted to SmartEMI.
- Point expiry: Reward Points are valid for 24 months from accrual and lapse thereafter — HDFC states 'Unredeemed Reward Points will expire/lapse after 2 years of accumulation'.
- Redemption fee: ₹99 per redemption.
- Smartbuy cap: 4,000 ACCELERATED Reward Points per calendar month on SmartBuy, with a daily limit of 2,000. At 2,000 a day the monthly cap needs at least 2 separate days to reach. Inside it, brand vouchers bought through GyFTR or Woohoo carry a 1,000-point sub-limit w.e.f. 1 July 2026 — subcapinr holds it, and it is PART OF this cap, not additional. A DAILY cap cannot be expressed in this schema — capperiod offers monthly, quarterly, annual and pertransaction, with no daily option. The bucket carries the MONTHLY figure and the daily limit is recorded in sub-fields and notes.
- Partner cap: 5,000 Reward Points a calendar month on the 5X partner band, shared ACROSS ALL FOUR BRANDS combined — Myntra, Nykaa, Marks & Spencer and Reliance Digital draw on one pool, not one each. At 25 points per ₹200 it binds at ₹40,000 of partner spend a month.

| Payment return | 2% of the payment amount, subject to a minimum of ₹450. |

| Wallet load | 1% on wallet-loading spends exceeding ₹10,000 in a calendar month, excluding PayZapp, with effect from 1 October 2025. The fee applies to the total wallet-loading spend for the month, capped at ₹4,999. |

| Reward redemption | ₹99 plus taxes on redemption through the rewards catalogue. |
| EMI processing | ₹199 plus taxes on retail EMI conversion. |
| GST | 18% on all fees, interest and charges. |
Is the HDFC Bank Regalia Gold Credit Card Worth It?
At ₹2,500 with a ₹4 lakh reversal, this is the sensible default in the HDFC range. Twelve domestic lounge visits alone are worth more than the fee to anyone who flies quarterly, and the base rate is roughly double what most ₹2,500 cards manage.
The catch is the redemption channel. ₹0.65 a point applies to "select premium brands" in a catalogue HDFC does not publish in full. If what you want is not in it, you fall back to ₹0.30 and the card halves. Check the catalogue before you commit to the card, not after.
The 5X band is narrower than it looks — four brands, one shared 5,000-point monthly pool, binding at ₹40,000. Useful, not transformative.
Against Regalia proper, Gold earns more per rupee, has a better redemption rate and adds the partner band, for the same fee. There is no reason to prefer the older card.

What is a Regalia Gold Reward Point worth? ₹0.65 through the Exclusive Gold Catalogue, which is the best published channel and the basis for the rates here. ₹0.50 for SmartBuy travel, and around ₹0.30 for statement credit or the general catalogue.
Did Regalia Gold change in May 2026? Yes. HDFC moved it from ₹150 to ₹200 earning blocks on 15 May 2026. The rate is now 5 points per ₹200.
How much lounge access does it give? 12 complimentary domestic visits a year and 6 international, tracked through SmartBuy under Milestone Benefits.
Does Regalia Gold have a SmartBuy accelerated rate? A SmartBuy cap of 4,000 points a month and 2,000 a day is on record for this card, which implies an accelerated band exists — but HDFC publishes no rate for it on any page reviewed here. Treat SmartBuy as earning the base rate until HDFC states otherwise.
