Reward Structure: How You Earn
The card earns InterMiles, valued here at ₹0.40 — see the caveat below, because it is an estimate rather than a published rate.
6 InterMiles per ₹150 on retail spends — about 1.6%. 12 InterMiles per ₹150 on flights and hotels booked through InterMiles — about 3.2%, double the retail rate.
These cards were not part of HDFC's 15 May 2026 rate change, which applied to its own Reward Point cards. The InterMiles co-brands earn in a partner currency and still accrue on a ₹150 block.
| Spend | Effective rate |
|---|---|
| Flight and hotel bookings on InterMiles | **3.2%** |
| Everything else | 1.6% |
| Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government, gaming | **0%** |
Every percentage on this card rests on an estimate. InterMiles publishes no fixed rupee rate — what a mile buys depends on route, cabin, date and award availability, exactly like an airline mile. This dataset uses ₹0.40 a mile as one shared working constant across all four InterMiles cards so they stay comparable with each other. It is tagged estimated and it could be materially wrong in either direction.
Only retail purchases above ₹150 accrue InterMiles at all. Smaller transactions earn nothing. Cash advances, fuel, fees, EasyEMI and wallet loading are excluded, and miles are reversed if a purchase is later converted to SmartEMI.
Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn
- Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; EasyEMI and e-wallet loading; rent, property management, maintenance and packers-and-movers; government transactions; education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, Cheq or MobiKwik (paying a college or school directly still earns); and online skill-based gaming. Points are also REVERSED if a retail transaction is later converted to SmartEMI.
- Point expiry: Reward Points are valid for 24 months from accrual and lapse thereafter — HDFC states 'Unredeemed Reward Points will expire/lapse after 2 years of accumulation'.
- Redemption fee: ₹99 per redemption.

Is the InterMiles HDFC Bank Signature Credit Card Worth It?
At ₹2,500 with 6 miles per ₹150 on retail, Signature sits between the Diners and Platinum cards without a clear reason to prefer it unless the InterMiles Silver membership matters to you.
No fee waiver threshold is published, which on a ₹2,500 card is a meaningful omission — budget the fee as a fixed annual cost.
The doubled travel rate is the whole design. Booking through InterMiles earns 3.2% against 1.6% elsewhere, so the card rewards routing your travel through the platform — which also means accepting whatever prices and availability InterMiles offers on the day.
Miles cannot be cashed out. If you stop flying, accumulated InterMiles have no alternative use. That is the difference between this and a cashback card, and it matters more than the headline rate.
The ₹150 minimum is easy to overlook. Small transactions earn nothing at all, which quietly erodes the effective rate on everyday spending.
